ECTOPIA -2020 got ended with scintillating Fashion Show and Batch 2018 emerging as “Best Batch”

ECTOPIA -2020 reached its crescendo yesterday evening with exhilarating ‘Duet dance performance’ by students. The participants were seen shaking and wiggling their legs with amazing dance moves, which enthused the audience of medicos to scream in joy and excitement.
The, came the highly-awaited scintillating ‘Fashion Show’ performed by a number of participants. All the participants had toiled very hard for the past several weeks to show their perfection in ramp walking and showing stylish gestures wearing brilliant fashion-clad outfits.
Members of the Managing Society and medical administrators presided on this concluding day of the ECTOPIA.
In an impressive valedictory function organized, Gurnoor Singh of Batch 2017 was declared as Mr Ectopia and Ms Sonam Dhall of Batch 2016 as Ms Ectopia. Both were felicitated by the dignitaries present on the occasion
Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, who is also Chairperson of DMCH Cultural Committee, expressed his warmest thanks to all the participants, students, faculty members and coordinators in making this cultural show a great success.
Secretary of DMCH Cultural Committee-Dr Dinesh Jain and Convener Dr Navjot Bajwa said that the last three-days of ‘ECTOPIA 2020’ have been full of joy and excitement and there have been enthusiastic support from everyone involved in this event.

‘Ik Sandhu Hunda Si’ will definitely stay with you for a long time


Chandigarh: Golden Bridge Films & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd is all set to release their upcoming Punjabi film, Ik Sandhu Hunda Si, on 28th February 2020. 
This film features Gippy Grewal and Neha Sharma in lead roles. Along with them Dheeraj Kumar, Babbal Rai, Raghveer Boli, Roshan Prince, Vikramjeet Singh Virk are playing pivotal characters. Rakesh Mehta has directed this action-romance caper. The story of the film is written by Jass Grewal. Sham Kaushal has directed the action sequences in the film. 
The whole project is produced by Bally Singh Kakar. The music of the film will be released under Humble Music.
On this occasion, Gippy Grewal said, “Ik Sandhu Hunda Si is not just an action film it is a complete package of romance, friendship, emotion. Till now, the response songs and trailer has received is beyond our expectations and we just hope this will continue with the film also.”
The leading lady of the film, Neha Sharma said, “This is my first Punjabi film, I am quite excited about my new innings. I just hope people will accept me in this new avatar.”
Revealing his character, Roshan Prince said, “When I got this script, I was so impressed with my character (Gill) particularly. I am sure that this character will leave an impact on the audience.”
Babbal Rai on his film and upcoming projects said, “My character is not shown in the trailer, which has created the curiosity among the audiences. I just hope when they will finally watch it in the film, it will not disappoint at all.”
Sharing his views captain of the ship, Rakesh Mehta said, “As the release of the film is just around the corner. So, the whole team is putting their best forwarding in promoting the film. I believe we have done our job now it’s up to audiences how they are going to perceive it.”
Producer of the film, Bally Singh Kakar quoted, “Being the producer of this film, we are quite confident about our project. Having such a talented star cast and team onboard has been a wonderful experience. We are quite sure that this film will set a benchmark for action-romantic films in Pollywood.” 
The worldwide distribution of the film is done by Munish Sahni’s Omjee Star Studios. ‘Ik Sandhu Hunda Si’ will hit the theatres on 28th February 2020.

1st NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF SOCIETY OF PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND EMPOWERMENT (SPHERE)


The Ist National Conference of Society of Public Health Education, Research and Empowerment was held from 20th to 21st February 2020 at DMCH College of Nursing, Malakpur, Ludhiana. The theme of Conference was “Filling the gaps in Primary Health Care Challenges for Nurse Practitioners” The Conference kicked off on Thursday with Keynotes and two sessions successively on Nurse Practitioners and Challenges for prevention of diseases and health promotion, role of nurse practitioner in managing expanded service delivery and continuum of care in primary health care chaired by Dr. Sandhya Gupta, Dr. Darshan Sohi, Prof. Glory Samuel, Mr. J.C. Frank.
Luminaries of the world of nursing & medical field graced the occasion& chaired the five sessions. During the conference, 27 scientific papers were presented and compiled into compendium and it was released by esteemed guests & dignitaries.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Raj Bahadur, Vice-chancellor, BFUHS, Faridkot and the Guest of Honor was Prof. Dr. Sandhya Gupta, Principal of CON, AIIMS, New Delhi former secretary of INC. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, President, Mr. Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary, DMCH Managing Society, Dr. Samta Soni, President SPHERE, Dr. Sushma K Saini, Secretary SPHERE, Dr. Sandeep Puri, Principal DMCH Medical College, Dr. Rajoo Singh Chhina, Dean, Dr. Ashwani Chaudhary Medical Superintendent, Dr. Triza Jiwan Principal, Prof. Mrs. Nidhi Sagar, Vice-Principal, Prof. Mrs. Sandeep Kaur, Organizing Secretary, DMCH College of Nursing, Ludhiana.
Addressing the dignitaries the chief guest Dr. Raj Bahadur congratulated all members of organizing committee of DMCH College of Nursing forselecting such an innovative & appropriate theme for the conference. He shared that with an outburst of unknown diseases and pandemics, has a significant impact on medical as well as paramedical sectors. So, there is a great need for efficient and trained nurses to cater the increased medical needs of the people and providing excellence in nursing. He believed that issue under reference shall be emphasized in conference to enhance potential of faculty by means of knowledge.
Mr. Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary DMCH Managing Society emphasized that the theme of conference is aptly chosen as today health care system is focusing on wellness rather than illness to be make cost effective.
Dr. Sandeep Puri, Principal DMCH Medical College, Ludhiana said there is need of much preparation for next decade of nursing practice must be done without the benefit of certainty.
Dr. Triza Jiwan shared that health requirements are undergoing complex changes at national, inter-national & global level. These challenges make it imperative to strengthen the health care workforce specially Nurse Practitioners.
The highlights of evening were cultural programme which was jeweled with Giddha, Western Dance & guest items of Jammu Kashmir state dance by students of nursing followed by banquet dinner..
On Friday sessions held onNutritional Health & Use of IT Surveillance, Nurse Practitioner and mental harmony and contributions of Nurse Practitioner in health and wellness which were chaired byDr. Sushma K Saini, Prof. Harjinder Kaur,Dr.Triza Jiwan, Prof. Raj Kumari, Dr. Rama Taneja, Mr. Ajit Desh Panday.
The Valedictory address was delivered by Dr. Triza Jiwan and Prof. Mrs. Sandeep Kaur DMCH, CON, Ludhiana. Mrs. Amninder Kaur delivered the vote of thanks.
With such inspirational, informative and interactive sessions, the two day conference came to an end, raising too many questions and challenges that may impact health care, especially in India. It also gave answers to many existing issues through the numerous innovations that were presented. The generic thought which probably each one of us had was an affordable and accessibility of good health care. For the delegates it was a fiercing experience as they heard well known dignitaries from the field of nursing & medical sciences ho shared their knowledge and thoughts.


ECTOPIA-2020 started with colourful performances

Three-day cultural festival ‘ECTOPIA 2020’ began today with an impressive inaugural ceremony by Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta. Also present on the occasion were Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Dean Academics Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina, Medical Supdt. Dr Ashwani Chaudhary and other faculty members
Secretary Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, in his message, said that Managing Society of DMCH has always been supportive in organizing such types of cultural events and and extracurricular activities for the overall development of medical students studying in DMCH.
Principal Dr Sandeep Puri (who is also Chairperson of DMCH Cultural Committee) said that ‘ECTOPIA’ festival is personally very close to his heart and with every passing year, it is presented in a new form and on different theme, with more exciting and thrilling performances.   
Dr Dinesh Jain (Secretary, DMCH Cultural Committee) and Dr Navjot Bajwa (Convener of DMCH Cultural Committee) extended warm congratulations to all the participants and audience to enjoy this three-day grand  festival with full enthusiasm and excitement. Five different MBBS Batches from year 2015 to2019 will be participating in the event. The theme of ‘ECTOPIA 2020’ this year is ‘Hakuua Matata’ which means “No worries” or “No Problem” and mascot of the three festival ‘Timon & Pumbaa’ was also released    
The events held in the morning on the first day of ECTOPIA include:-
Turn Coat Extempore-which includes a style of debating in which an individual is given a certain amount of time to speak in favour or against a particular topic.
Dance Off- in which students perform thrilling dance performances on hit bollywood and Punjabi song numbers.  
Ad Fads/Stand Up Comedy- In this segment, participants of a particular MBBS batch are given a fixed time to conceptualize an advertisement on any product and present it to the audience in a hilarious manner.
Treasure Hunt- a game in which the players are given a series of clues to direct them to win a hidden prize

Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib at SCD Government College

As part of Centenary Celebrations, students of SCD Government College  organised Shri Akhand Path Sahib, an annual  feature of the college. The Bhog was on 19th Feb, 2020. It was attended by a large number of students who performed Sewa in the form of doing the Path, Kirtan and preparing Guru Ka Langar which was partaken of by all with great fervour.
The occasion was attended by a number of the college's former students. 
Dr. Balwinderpal Singh, retired from Gurusar Sudhar College and currently associated with Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle. He addressed the students and shared his experiences as a student here, he elaborated upon the motto of the college- Dare to be True. He cited excerpts from Gurbani to convey relevant moral precepts to the listeners. Encouraged all to follow on the path shown by the Gurus and to lead a chaste life.
S. Ranjit Singh, retired school Principal and recipient of State Award & Rastriya Award by the President of India. He also addressed the students and proudly showed his college ID card which he had kept safely all these years. He emphasized upon 'dharam' and 'vidya' in our lives.
Prof Kiranjit Kaur Brar, principal Master Tara Singh College, Sh. Naresh Gaur, Senate member,  Madam Amita Bharti from Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, Jasdev Singh Sekhon, joint director, S. Navdeep Singh, director FM Gold and many other personalities attended the Path. 
Principal Dr. Dharam Singh Sandhu also inspired the students to take inspiration from their predecessors and take the college to greater glory and write history. 
On this occasion a turban tying competition under the guidance of Dr. D S Sidhu and a book exhibition was also held in the college. Majinder Singh stood 1st. Rajvir Singh stood 2nd and Maninder Singh stood 3rd.

BVM USN remembers Social Reformer, Second Chief of RSS Guruji Golwalkar on his 109th Jayanti

Fostering the religious sentiments among Bhartiyans BVM USN, celebrated the birth anniversary of Shri Madhav Rao Sadashiv  Golwalkar ji and Chhatrapati Shivaji with extreme zeal and fervor. Mrs Seema Gupta (PGT) threw light on the life sketch of Golwalkar ji popularly known as Guruji, a visionary and second Supreme chief of RSS, who helped it to attain a pre-eminent position. School choir sang a captivating song dedicated to Shri Golwalkar ji and filled the aura with divinity. A short documentary was also screened for the students, highlighting life lessons of Guruji. BVM family paid a floral tribute to Guru ji and Shivaji in the morning assembly.  Principal Bandana Sethi motivated the students to follow the teachings and principles of Guruji an everlasting source of inspiration to accomplish a better place in the society.
