Sister Silvi the Principal and the members of staff accorded a warm and cordial welcome to the luminaries of different religions – Rev. Fr. Anthony Thuruthiyil (Director of St. Anthony Convent School, Adampur), Mr. Vishal Sharma Ji (Head of Vivekanand Organisation), Giani Harjit Singh Ji (Principal of Bhai Gurdas Gurmukh Missionary College), Maulana Dr Muhammad Usman Ludhianavi Ji (Nayab Shahi Imam, Punjab), and also the parents. Sarv Dharm Sammelan epitomized multi-cultural, multi-lingual and multi-religious unity. All religious dignitaries conveyed the message of love, brotherhood and cooperation for the spiritual, moral, social, intellectual and political growth of the society, the nation and the world as a whole and expressed the desire that these types of religious conventions are the need of the hour. Rev. Fr. Anthony Thuruthiyil emphasized that religion acts as a guide or a blueprint for the inner development of mind and spirit and also forms a basis of how an individual can structure his life to achieve success and spiritual fulfillment. Parents and teachers who attended this Sammelan carried home the message of peace and harmony. The cultural programme presented during the occasion added colour and conveyed the message of religious solidarity and brotherhood. The whole school bore a religious look and in spiritual fervor. The Sammelan concluded with a note of happiness, hope and humanity for one and all.

BVM, Udham Singh Nagar, conducts an enriching Workshop for English facilitators
Keeping the teachers updated is imperative to the growth of the teachers. BVM (USN) ensures that its teachers are well-versed with the changing trends in education and respective subjects. As a part of this endeavour, English fraternity along with the facilitators of other renowned schools around the city, attended the seminar on ‘Phonetics and Pronunciation’ organized by Ratna Sagar Group of Publications. The highly knowledgeable resource person, the IBM certified Master Trainer Dr. Asher R. Jesudoss (M.Phil & PhD in Linguistics) commenced the workshop with introductory session wherein the teacher participants were grouped into 6 member teams. He helped the teachers to polish their speaking skills. He provided guidance to the teachers how to update their knowledge on pronunciation by focusing on the phonetic sounds. To involve the teachers’ participation in the workshop, many activities were conducted. Each participant explored and understood the fundamental elements of being an effective English educator. The session broke on an optimistic note of making sincere efforts to work towards appropriate pronunciation and usage of the language to pass it successfully to the future generation. Manjula Sharma (HOD, English) expressed her gratitude for an enlightening session as it was reminiscing the post graduate class of Phonetics.

‘Armed Forces Flag Day Celebrations’ at BVM USN
BVM Trust believes in imbibing values in every dimension, one of these values is the expression of gratitude and appreciation to all the military personnel of India – the unsung gallants of motherland. With a motive to express the BVMites’ solidarity with the soldiers, in recognition of their supreme sacrifices, ‘Armed Forces Flag Day’ was observed at BVM (USN) with great zeal and zest during the morning assembly. Baljinder Kaur (PRT) acquainted the students with the importance of this special day and the role of armed forces in making our lives peaceful. Jonesh (VIII-D) through his speech expressed his feeling and gratitude for the valiant heroes of our country who are safeguarding our borders selflessly so that we can enjoy our lives fully. A group song by the school choir ‘Vande Matram’ filled the hearts of Bhartiyans with a feeling of pride and patriotism. The whole ambience echoed with ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
Revised Press Release-Alumni Meet
Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) is conducting ‘Annual Alumni Meet’ on 21st December (Saturday) in DMC College Campus. During the meet, golden jubilee MBBS Batch of year 1969 and silver jubilee MBBS batch of year 1994 will be felicitated during the meet.
Principal Dr Sandeep Puri said that ‘Annual Alumni Meet’ is much-awaited programme for the alumni of DMCH to have a perfect get-together with their batch mates, fellow beings and their revered teachers. It also give them a chance to see their alma mater growing as one of reputed medical institutions of the country.
Dr Puneet Aulakh Pooni (Chairperson, DMCH Alumni Committee) said that today, alumni of DMCH has been at various prestigious positions in India and abroad as well and it becomes very nostalgic to meet each other after a long time.
Convener of DMCH Alumni Committee Dr Shibba T. Chabbra and Organizing Secretary-Dr Dinesh Jain remarked that the forthcoming DMCH Alumni Meet will be filled with lot of exciting moments and pleasures of reunion.

MSME honors CT Varsity students for MDP’s one week session
Ludhiana: Management Development Program (MDP) in association with Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME-DI Ludhiana) awarded the Management Students of CT University (CTU), Ludhiana, Punjab for ‘Marketing Management’. The students were facilitated by Kundan Lal, Assistant Director MSME- DI Ludhiana and R.K. Parmar, Assistant Director, MSME- DI Ludhiana; awarding the participants with certificates from MSME.
The students had been a part of one week session addressed by various resource persons from MSME. During this program, various sessions were conducted on relevant topics related to Marketing Management. Hands on practice were done by the participants through various case studies. Even, Industrial visits to Central Tool Room, Ludhiana and Gagan Mechanical Works were organized for the participants.
Kundan Lal, while addressing the participants said, “With such certification for MDP, students can seek any assistance from MSME-DI when they desire to set up their own unit.” He also motivated the participants and assured them that MSME would help them in every possible aspect.
Meanwhile, Dr Amrinder Singh, Head of School, Management Studies said, “Each session was beneficial for students as it connected them with the industry and enhanced their knowledge about setting up their own business in the near future.”

BVM, Udham Singh Nagar Celebrates ‘Soil Day’
BVM USN observed world soil day to commemorate the importance of soil as a critical component of the natural system and as a vital contributor of human wellbeing. Sunena (PRT Science) highlighted the problems like deforestation, bad agricultural practices and pollution. She also emphasized the need of adopting 3R’s i.e. reduce, reuse and recycle. Dilpreet Kaur class 8th student recited a beautiful poem ‘Mitti Ki Pukar’. A number of activities were organised for students of class VII viz, plantation saplings, weeding and watering the lawns in the school compound to make them feel connected to the nature.
