CT Varsity organises Short Filmmaking Competition Sociotube

Ludhiana: CT University’s School of Management Studies organised an inter-school Short Film making competition called ‘CTUSociotube’ in which all the schools namely School of Management Studies, School of Humanities and Physical Education, School of Law, School of Engineering and Technology, School of Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Sciences, School of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, School of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism and School of Design and Innovation participated.
The event was judged by Jaswinder Kaur, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan; Satvinder Singh, a philanthropist, president of Computer Teacher Welfare Association, Ludhiana Wing and Deep Kumar, Principal, GHG Academy (NRI Wing, Jagraon). The videos were based on social issues like body shaming, wastage of water resources, deforestation, etc.
The winning short film was ‘Ek Kadam’ by School of Pharmaceutical Science; second ‘Astitva’ by School of Management Studies. The third winners were ‘Koshish Da Mull’ by School of Management Studies and ‘Mithi Jail Pardesh Di’ by School of Pharmaceutical Science.
Satvinder Singh, judge for the day said, “All the students did a great job whereas our key element while judging was that whosoever has provided some solution to their highlighting social issues, grabbed our attention and were declared to be the winners”
Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor CTU congratulated the winners and said, “These platforms are a small start to great achievements. The students did really well and each video had some meaning with it. This displays that youth is awakening and are alert to contribute some change for society.”

आर्य कॉलेज गर्ल्ज़ सेक्शन में रही बसंत उत्सव की धूम

लुधियाना: आर्य कॉलेज गर्ल्ज़ सेक्शन में बसंत उत्सव हर्षोल्लास से मनाया गया। समारोह का शुभारम्भ ज्योति प्रज्वलित कर सरवती वंदना गायन से हुआ। इस अवसर पर कॉलेज सचिव माननीय सतीशा शर्मा जी, प्रिं.डॉ सविता उप्पल, इंचार्ज गर्ल्ज़ सेक्शन श्रीमती सूक्ष्म आहलूवालिया उपस्थित रहे ।संगीत विभाग की तरफ़ से विशेष कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। परिसर में सभी छात्रायें पीले परिधानों में सजकर पहुँची और कॉलेज को भी पीले पतंगो, ग़ुबारों और पीले फूलों से सजाया गया। छात्राओं  ने अपनी पेशकारी में बसंत का मैडले, टप्पे, नृत्य और ऋतु आ गयी रे इत्यादि गीत प्रस्तुत कर समा बाँध दिया।कॉलेज इंचार्ज द्वारा ऋतुओं की विभिन्नता सम्बंधी विचार भी साँझा किए गये। कार्यक्रम के अंत में कॉलेज इंचार्ज ने सभी स्टाफ़ मेम्बर्ज़ और छात्राओं को बसंत की बधाई दी।

BVM, Udham Singh Nagar, celebrates Basant Panchmi

BVM USN bubbled with religious fervor and enthusiasm on the occasion of Basant Panchami, a festival marking the beginning of spring season. The ambience was filled with jubilation .Adorned with yellow flowers the whole school campus wore a festive look. The celebrations commenced by paying obeisance to Maa Saraswati invoking her blessings for knowledge and wistful life. Saraswati Pujan created a pious aura in the premises .It was followed by divine rendition of 'Saraswati Vandana' by musical Choir of the school Prisha Handa ( VIII) apprised  the students with the importance of the festival. Anaya (III) welcomed the spring season expressing her heartfelt emotions through a poem. Students of primary wing beautifully decked in yellow attire brightened up the whole environment. They also relished yellow food items that they had brought in the tiffins. Congratulating the students Principal Bandana Sethi motivated the students to pray and attain blessings from Goddess Saraswati, the epitome of intelligence and wisdom.

CT Varsity holds expert talk on Female Hygiene

Ludhiana: CT University (CTU) under the Centre for Women Empowerment and Leadership organised an awareness seminar on Gynaecology and Female hygiene for girl students at the campus. The talk was addressed by Monika Sharma, President, Mahila Jagriti Abhiyan, an organisation working for menstrual hygiene awareness.
While addressing the students, Sharma said, “In this busy and speedy lifestyle, we often neglect our health and hygiene. More than 80% women are suffering from urinary infections as well as gynaecology diseases; according to World Health Organisation, in India, on an average, every seven minutes a woman dies due to such diseases. We often ignore minor things and then face major issues.
She further encouraged students to use cotton sanitary products and shun plastic based products in order to live a healthier life.
Harsirat Kaur, a student pursuing BSc Economics, said, “Well, we all are busy somewhere or the other and we actually neglect our basic hygiene. The session was like an alarm for all of us that we need to wake up and take care of our health. Indeed, self love must be our priority.”
Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor CTU thanked the guest and encouraged to promote such awareness sessions.

आर्य कॉलेज गर्ल्ज़ सेक्शन की हरविंदर ने इंटर कॉलेज साइक्लिंग प्रतियोगिता में जीता सिल्वर मैडल

लुधियाना : आर्य कॉलेज गर्ल्ज़ सेक्शन की हरविंदर ने 25 जनवरी, 2020 को पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी, चंडीगढ़ में आयोजित साइक्लिंग प्रतियोगिता में अपनी कामयाबी का परचम फहराया है। इंडिविजूअल कैटेगॉरी में मास स्टार्ट 30 किलो मी. में हरविंदर ने सिल्वर मेडल प्राप्त किया और 20 किलोमी. टीम ट्रायल में ब्रॉंज़ मेडल जीता। इस प्रतियोगिता में आर्य कॉलेज को फ़र्स्ट रनर अप घोषित किया गया। हरविंदर और अमनदीप कौर दोनों को ऑल इंडिया इंटर यूनिवर्सिटी प्रतियोगिता हेतु चुना भी गया।कॉलेज सचिव श्रीमती सतीशा शर्मा ने छात्राओं की खेलों के प्रति सच्ची लगन और कठिन परिश्रम की प्रशंसा की।प्रिं. डॉ सविता उप्पल, गर्ल्ज़ सेक्शन इंचार्ज श्रीमती सूक्ष्म आहलूवालिया और मिस गुरप्रीत कौर ( फ़िज़िकल एजुकेशन विभाग) ने विजयी छात्राओं को बधाई दी तथा भविष्य में इसी प्रकार सफलता प्राप्त करने की शुभकामनाएँ दीं।

आर्य कॉलेज गर्ल्ज़ सेक्शन द्वारा आयोजित किया गया सामुदायिक जागरूकता अभियान

लुधियाना: आर्य कॉलेज गर्लज़ सैक्शन द्वारा सोसीआलॉजी विभाग की तरफ़ से स्वच्छता को मुख्य रखने हेतु एक सामुदायिक जागरूकता अभियान की शुरुआत की गयी। प्रो. नेहा की अध्यक्षता में लगभग 50 छात्रों ने इस में भाग लिया और राम शरणम हंबडा रोड पर स्थित बस्ती क्षेत्रों में दौरा किया। छात्रों ने उन लोगों को अपने जीवन में स्वच्छता के महत्व को अपनाने का आग्रह किया । छात्राओं ने स्वच्छता सम्बंधी अनेक आर्टिकल्ज़ का भी उल्लेख किया तथा साथ ही अभिभावकों को भी प्रेरित किया कि इस दुष्चक्र से बचाव हेतु बच्चों को सरकारी स्कूलों में दाख़िला दिलवाया जाए ताकि वह शिक्षा अर्जित कर सके और स्वच्छता की और उनका ध्यान उन्मुख हो सके। इंचार्ज गर्ल्ज़ सेक्शन श्रीमती सूक्ष्म आहलूवालिया तथा प्रिं डॉ सविता उप्पल जी ने छात्रों और प्राध्यापक वर्ग के द्वारा आयोजित इस दौरे की सराहना की।

BVM Udham Singh Nagar celebrates 71st Republic Day

With an aim to evoke patriotic feelings in the young hearts, BVM(USN) celebrated the Republic Day with immense deal of patriotic fervor. 
The
whole campus was adorned with tri-colour. The esteemed members of BVM Trust M.M. Bamba (President), K.C. Maini (Vice President) graced the occasion. The auspicious day began with Deep Prajwalan & Saraswati Vandana followed by flag unfurling ceremony by the benign members of BVM Trust, Principal Bandana Sethi, Vice Principal & Co-ordinators. Harmesh Malhotra (PGT) administered the pledge to uphold the pride & glory of the nation. The entire premises reverberated with the rhythmic patriotic beats of a mesmerizing song “Jahan dal dal par....” by BVM faculty. Narinder Kaur (coordinator TGT) highlighted the importance of the day and urged the intellectual section of the society - the teachers, to give their best to the future generations and realise the dream of martyrs, making our nation a progressive and sovereign one. Kiran Bala (TGT) through her poem suggested if we want to see our country shining on the world stage, then the integrity of the same has to be maintained by forgetting our individual selves. M.M. Bamba ji (President) extending his best wishes on this auspicious day saying that  teachers are bestowed with the special blessings of Maa Saraswati and they should contribute whole heartedly for the creation of a new energetic and shining Bharat .The event culminated with Vande Mataram.

Green Land Convent School Sec 32, Chd Road Organizes Inter School Group Dance Competition

Green Land Convent School Sec 32, Chd Road organized Inter School Group Dance Competition for member schools in ‘Hubs of Learning’ on January 25, 2020. Students of classes VI to VIII from reputed schools in the city participated in it and presented capturing dance performances on the theme ‘Patriotism.’ The judges were mesmerized with each presentation and had to exert their faculties to the utmost point in selecting the best three performances.
Sacred Soul Convent School, Dugri won the first position, DCM Presidency School Jamalpur Colony, Ludhiana bagged the second position and Green Land Convent School, Phase-II, Dugri, Ldh won the third position. Appreciation awards were given to Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar and Saint Bir Santosh Public School, Ludhiana.
Ms. Vinita Sanan, the Principal gave away the prizes to the winners; speaking to the participants on the occasion, she lauded the participants and said that such competitions are an integral part of achieving holistic objectives and should be taken with true spirit and zeal.

BVM Udham Singh Nagar celebrates Republic Day

Bhartiya Vidya Mandir celebrated the 71st Republic Day with gaiety & patriotic fervor. The celebrations commenced with the auspicious lamp-lighting ceremony by M M Bamba ji (President, BVM Trust),          K C Maini ji (Vice-President, BVM Trust), Madan Mohan Vyas ji (Member) and the School Principal Bandana Sethi. The school premises was adorned with miniature tricolor flags and the Bhartiyans took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity and brotherhood. Paying tribute to the freedom fighters and unsung heroes, the musical choir presented a song 'Dhawaj Hamare Desh Ki Shaan Hai' which aroused the feelings of pride and love for the country. Bhoomi (V) through her poem 'Aao Hum Sab Bane Ek Insan' motivated everyone to become good human beings by acquiring moral values. A solo performance by scintillating singer Hardik Rawat (VIII) 'Aisa Desh Hai Mera' made the entire school brim with patriotism. A fantabulous dance performance by the bodacious Bhartiyans won the hearts of audience and left everyone spellbound with their graceful movements. M. M. Vyas ji acquainted the students with the fundamental rights mentioned in our constitution and also urged them to realise their duties for upliftment of the nation. He blessed them for their prosperous future. Principal Bandana Sethi in her address apprised the students with the constitution and democracy in the real sense. She motivated students to be passionate and love the work they do. She also motivated the students to be mentally and physically fit so that they can become capable guardians of the nation and encouraged them to maintain the dignity and glory of our motherland. The whole campus reverberated with 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', 'Jai Hind Jay Bharat'. The event culminated with National Song 'Vande  Mataram'.

ANNUAL CULTURAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION HELD AT SACRED HEART SR. SEC. SCHOOL, BRS NAGAR

Annual Cultural Prize Distribution for the session 2019-2020 was held at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana on 25January2020. The chief guest for the occasion was Sh. M.P Arora IAS officer, Special Secretary Higher Education and languages, Punjab and Commissioner NRI Affairs. He was accorded a floral welcome by the honourable Director Rev.Fr. John and worthy Principal Rev. Sr. Silvi. The function commenced with the blessings of Almighty in the form of a prayer dance followed by patriotic dance. The toppers of X-XII of the session (2018-2019) were awarded. It was further proceeded with the felicitation of the winners of the inter-class competitions held for classes VI-XII for the session 2019 -2020 and those who proved their mettle in sports and co -curricular activities.  The chief guest lauded and motivated the winners to keep working hard with sincere endeavours. The honourable Director of the school, Rev.Fr. John and worthy Principal Rev. Sr. Silvi also commended and appreciated the students and the teachers for their undeterred zeal to achieve new horizons. Nehru House bagged the first position. Tagore house and Gandhi house were declared Ist runner up and IInd runner up respectively. The function concluded with vote of thanks and the recital of the School Anthem.

Workshop on Guru Nanak Dev ji 's Bani at SCD Government College

Department of Music, SCD Government College,  Ldh organised a workshop on Guru Nanak Dev ji 's Bani on 24th January 2020 at 11am in the New Seminar Hall as part of the Centenary celebrations of the college. 
The mystical meaning of Guru Nanak Dev  ji's Bani was explained by the resource  persons S.Tarnjit Singh, Head of Labs, Department of Performing Arts, LPU &  Dr Kulwinder Singh, (Classical music) also from LPU.
They were accorded a warm welcome by the Principal Dr. Dharam Singh Sandhu. 
Dr. Kulwinder Singh, a Rabab exponent who has also sung in Shri Harmandir Sahib and Prof. Tarnjit Singh, a Tabla exponent and Gold medalist from PU, Chd has played Tabla at national level. Both the research persons have published many papers on classical music and traditional musical instruments in reputed journals.  cexplained and demonstrated the finer aspects of Guru Nanak Dev ji 's Bani with reference to Ragas. The first raga used in his Bani is ShriRag. He explained with musical rendition of the same. Origin of world is in sound OM in all religions. Guru Nanak said that this sound is preceded by Ek to signify the creator who is present before the emergence of sound. This was explained by Bhai Gurdas, Dr. Kulwinder elaborated and also explained the meaning of Akal Purakh. Guru Nanak Dev ji was an exponent of music and the resource persons demonstrated how to sing the Bani in some of the 31 different ragas of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. 
The thrust of the workshop was on the finer aspects of the Bani of Guru Nanak Dev ji. Only when Bani is rendered in the prescribed Raga will it have the desired effect on the listeners and establish connection with the Almighty and steer us on the path of righteousness. Purity of thought leads to good actions. Spiritual development is as important as physical development.

Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar celebrates National Girl Child Day


Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar celebrated the National Girl Child Day with an aim to promote awareness about the rights of girls. The day provides support and new opportunities to the girls in the country. An eloquent orator Shabad (7th) emphasized on the dire need to save girls and educate them about legal rights through his speech. Parth and Yashika of VIII class recited beautiful poems ‘Beti Hai to Kal hai' and ‘Mein Jhansi Ki Rani Banna chahti hun' respectively giving a message to provide girls due respect. A painting activity was arranged for the classes VI to VIII where in they showcased their aesthetic skills in their posters depicting fantabulous messages.
Principal Bandana Sethi said that the day reminds us of our duties towards society and she said that this day is observed for enhancing opportunities for the girls in the Nation and to ensure that children get respect and equality in rights.

Khelo India 2020 -Champions ,Punjab Basketball players get a rousung reception at Ludhiana

In the recently concluded ,Khelo India 2020 Youth Games in Assam, the National  Basketball Champions from Punjab were given  a warm welcome at Guru Nanak Stadium when they reached here from Guwahati  at  Ludhiana. The officials of Punjab Basketball Association (PBA) garlanded  all the players of Gold Medal winning Boys (Under 21) and also Bronze Medalist Girls(Under 21) category on this occasion,Mr Teja Singh Dhaliwal, Gen secretary PBA while congratulating the teams, said that the Basketball players have brought kudos to Punjab sports arena at a time when State is making all efforts to rejuvenate the sports, which was always in the forefront in winning medals in each category a few decades before. He saw great talent in Gold winning Punjab U-21 boys and said that many will be part of Indian team soon even as NBA too is eying on players from Punjab. He was all praise for Bronze Medalist Girls team, which lost Silver by one point only, that their dedication will also encourage other girls to come to basketball sports. Mr.J P Singh,President Of District Basketball Association, said that this was only good luck of players of Punjab that a senior functionary of Basketball Federation Of India(BFI),Teja Singh Dhaliwal, who is BFI National Sr.Vice Prescient has always supported  24X7 the players from Punjab. Mr. Brij Goyal, from  DBA encouraged  the players that they can excel in their studies too even the limited time ,if they give same focused concentration while studying likewise when they play and thus erase the stigma that players are not studious. Mr Vijay Chopra, VP PBA distributed sweets to the players. Teams ‘coaches were also honored.

CT University organizes Inter-School Volleyball match

Ludhiana: Directorate of Sports, CT University organised an Inter School Volleyball match for both girls and boys. The matches were played by various schools namely School of Management Studies, School of Humanities and Physical Education, School of Law, School of Engineering and Technology, School of Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Sciences, School of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, School of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism and School of Design and Innovation.
The results for Inter-School Volleyball (Boys): School of Pharmacy stood first, School of Law stood second whereas School of Engineering & Technology bagged third position. The results for Inter school Volleyball (Girls): School of Management stood first, School of Hotel Management & Tourism bagged second position and School of Engineering & Technology stood third.
Congratulating the winners, Dr Pravin Sharma, Director Sports said, “Volleyball is an excellent way for cardiovascular exercise. It involves running, jumping, hitting and even squatting which the heart pumping and lungs gets going. These sports activities not only provide health benefits but encourage the students to being out their best of potentials.”
Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor CTU congratulated the students and wished them luck for further matches.

BVM (USN) celebrates 123rd Birth Anniversary of Neta Ji

Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar celebrated Birth Anniversary of Subhash Chander Bose with great zeal and pride. Sheel Gandhi (PRT) projected on his life history and revolutionary thoughts through her enlightening speech. She said he was an Indian Nationalist whose defiant patriotism made him a hero in the freedom struggle. Kiran Bala (TGT) recited a beautiful poem dedicated to this Respected Revolutionary Leader. Paying tribute to Neta ji Principal Bandana Sethi motivated the students to imbibe his values in their life as he was a great source of inspiration for the youth.

Chess Maestros of BVM, USN Shine in LSSC Chess Championship

Young Chess masters of BVM, Udham singh Nagar showcased marvelous presentation in LSSC Chess Championship organised on 22 /1/2020.Budding players - Daman Sharma, Bisman Singh, Ridham Jain, Hitesh Sharma and Ansh Anand won second position in U/14 age group, Boys category securing  11/16 points. Enthusiastic chess players, Klodia Saxena, Tashika, Ruhani Sharma, Tanya Chopra in U/14 girls' 'category grabbed 4th position with 9/16 points in the championship .The Principal Bandana Sethi congratulated the winners and honoured them in the morning assembly. She also lauded the persistent efforts of their coach Baljeet Singh Gill and whole Physical Education Department.

CT University organizes ‘Kavi Darbar’ under Guru Nanak Chair

Ludhiana: CT University (CTU), Ludhiana under the aegis of Guru Nanak Chair, established at 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, organised Kavi Darbar themed on ‘So Kyon Manda Aakhiye Jit Jammeh Rajan’ where various poetesses presented their poetry on women empowerment.
The eminent poetesses of the region for the day were Sukhvinder Amrit, Jaspreet ‘Falak’, Dr Lakhwinder Kaur, Dr Davinder Dilroop, Dr Surinder Chopal, Dr Gurcharan Kocchar, a National Awardee, Simran Aks and Maninder Kaur Maan. They presented their latest poems on Women Empowerment. 
Welcoming the guests, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor CTU said, “The real satisfaction is that which comes from heart and indeed poetry is that connection towards something soulful. The poetesses are very much creative and with their powerful poetry, they can change the world."
One of the poetesses, Dr Gurcharan Kocchar quoted, “The one who gave birth to such a powerful man Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Mata Tripta has given the society such an enlightening force. She is a blessing for us.” Also, referring to her real life incident she said that female is a beauty and strength at same end. The house is empty without her.
Meanwhile, Dr Jagtar Singh Dhiman, CTU Registrar said, “Under the aegis of established Guru Nanak Chair at CTU, the team is working ahead for highlighting various research aspects like sociology, psychology and women empowerment that Guru wrote in his writings. The poetesses today beautifully presented their views through their poetry."

BVM - Udham Singh Nagar witness ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha – 2020’

The students of BVM - Udham Singh Nagar took the privilege to witness the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha – 2020’, - Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s interactive session with teachers, students and parents. Great enthusiasm and excitement was seen amongst the Bhartiyans of 9th and 10th while receiving valuable tips to take exams in a relaxed manner and not to come under stress to ensure better results. Students got guidelines about various subjects related to exams and even life beyond exams. Modi Ji also suggested students to be techno-savvy and spend some quality time with their parents and grandparents to make their life fruitful. After the session, Principal Bandana Sethi also motivated the students to follow the suggestions posed through the programme. She also encouraged them to work hard and excel in Board examinations.

BVM Udham Singh Nagar Introduces New Vocational Stream FMM (Financial Markets Management)


Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Udham Singh Nagar conducted and informative session for the students (class IX and X) where in the students were apprised with a new vocational course FMM which is being introduced in the school from next session. The session commenced with lamp lighting ceremony. The resource person was Bhupendra Singh, an expertise in the field of Financial Market Management. He awared the gathering with the diverse ways to manage funds / finance. He said, students with FMM course will have huge employment potential in financial market.
When addressing the gathering, Principal Bandana Sethi said that students must choose the streams wisely according to their interest and potential. She apprised the students with new optional subjects psychology, fine arts and dance (kathak) from the upcoming session as these subjects can open a new vista for better career in the respective fields. At the end she thanked the resource person and parents for sending cooperation. The session culminated with Vande Mataram.

College of Nursing celebrated Lohri Function

The festival of Lohri is Punjabis cultural celebration which marks the culmination of winter by lighting fire and creating bonfire to mark the onset of longer days. This harvest festival is also celebrated to mark both celebration and sharing. DMCH College of Nursing, Malakpur, Ludhiana celebrated Lohri in its campus with great joy and enthusiasm. The programme kicked off with Lohri Poojan and litting the sacred bonfire by Principal Dr (Mrs) Triza Jiwan along with faculty and nursing students. The function was started with special assembly wherein importance of festival was discussed. On the occasion, nursing students sung the melodious cultural folklores of Punjab. BVM Udham Singh Nagar Scientist stood First at State Level Inspire Award


Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Udham Singh Nagar Ludhiana secured berth at National level for Inspire Award by winning first position at state level science exhibition. Budding scientist Priyansh Patel (class VIII) paved his way to National level by emerging the winner among 42 exhibits from all over Punjab. The competition was organised by Department of Science And Technology, Govt. Of India at Roopnagar. The exhibit "Smart Saviours For Commuters" was appreciated by one and all. This model gives solution to tackle traffic problems all over India.Priyansh is awarded with a certificate, trophy and a bag. Narendra Singh Rawat, the mentor teacher is also honoured with appreciation certificate and Trophy.
 
BVM Trust members and Principal Bandana Sethi congratulated the winners and appreciated the continuous efforts of all the science teachers and extended their good wishes for future endeavours.

CT Varsity receives honor for outstanding work in MOOCs

Ludhiana: CT University (CTU), Ludhiana is awarded with a special recognition among all the Universities and Colleges of Punjab and Haryana for its outstanding work in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).  
Dr Kamal Malik, Associate Professor, Deputy Director of MOOC Cell in University, represented CTU at the 4th International Convention on ‘Interdisciplinary Research for Sustainable Development’, an initiative by Green Thinkerz in Association with IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial, I2OR , Sustainable COSMOS , FOSS Community which was held at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Chandigarh, in association with the Centre for Smart Modern Construction, Western Sydney University, Australia. Dr Malik also received "Preeminent Researcher Award 2019" by Green Thinkerz Society at CII.
For her achievement, Dr Malik said, “Such honors really motivate people to work harder by bringing more innovations in research. I am feeling overwhelmed and prepared for my next goals to achieve in this area along with the support of team in the University.”

BVM, USN nails the Avantika Competition

Promising students of BVM, USN brought laurels to the school by clinching various prizes in 'Avantika International colouring, greeting card making and essay writing competition' held on 9th November. Total 503 Bhartiyans from Pre-nursery to XII Class availed the opportunity to express their thoughts through colours and words. The budding artists and writers put their hearts and minds on the sheet while exhibting their creativity and confidence. 32 young artists grabbed gold medals, 45 students bagged silver medals, 37  won bronze medals and 9 bodacious  Bhartiyans got shields in all three categories. The Principal Bandana Sethi honoured and appreciated the winners for their accomplishment during the morning assembly. She also acknowledged the earnest efforts of the whole Arts Department and wished them good luck for their future endeavors.

BVM, Udham Singh Nagar, Pays Tribute to the Unsung Heroes on ’72nd Army Day’


BVM (USN) expressed admiration and gratitude to the Indian Army by celebrating 72nd Army Day with great zeal, fervour and pride .A special morning assembly was organised to pay tribute to the indomitable guardians of our frontiers on this day. Sanjeev Thakur (PGT) enlightened the students with the importance of the day through his inspirational speech. He said that everyone should prioritise service to the motherland to maintain peace and security within its borders. Students sang a mesmerising song focusing the valour of the national heroes of our country who gaurd us day and night without complaining. Budding bhartiyans also paid a tribute to the courageous Warriors through their spectacular dance performance.

Principal Bandana Sethi expressed her heartfelt gratitude to those who remain undeterred while sacrificing their lives for the sake of the nation.

Green Land Convent Celebrated Lohri Festival


Green Land Convent Sr. Sec. School, Sector -32,Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated Lohri Festival with exuberance and cultural fervour on January 11, 2020.
The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The function started with speeches in English and Punjabi highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the bone-chilling winter. The tiny tots of the Kindergarten had a campus party in which they danced to the tune of popular Punjabi songs. Inter-house singing competition was held for the classes VI to VIII. The school auditorium was decorated beautifully with hand-made kites, buntings, and charts.
A bonfire was set up around which the students gathered and offered traditional offerings into the holy fire. Interacting with the students and teachers, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sananexplained the students historical and religious significance of the festival, and wished them Happy Lohri.

BVM, USN celebrates Lohri and Youth Day with exuberance


Lohri and Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand ji was celebrated at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit. 
Principal, Vice Principal and coordinators lit the sacred bonfire to initiate the celebrations. Students of primary sections were attired in traditional Punjabi dresses.
A special assembly was conducted in which the students from primary wing showcasing their marvelous oratory skills recited a poem "Bharat Maa Ka Spoot" dedicated to Swami vivekanand ji. Projecting the principles of Swami ji students (classes III to V) presented a short enactment. Students (V & VI) sang the melodious Lohri song " Sunder Mundriye Ho", immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab. Monika (PRT) apprised the students with the significance of Lohri and Makar Sankranti. Sumita (PRT) acquainted the students with the life history and teachings of eminent scholar and philosopher Swami Vivekananda ji. She said that Swami Vivekanand ji had great hopes from the youth as future of the nation depends on them, therefore his birth anniversary is celebrated as ‘Youth Day’. Jubliant Bhartiyans (V -VII) stole the show with fantabulous dance performances on bhangra beats. A skit "Dhian Di Lohri was another highlight of the celebration.
Extending her greetings on this auspicious occasion the Principal Bandana Sethi encouraged students to keep the tradition and culture alive in our festivities. Commemorating the role of Swami Vivekanand ji in the nation building she urged the students to fix a goal in their life and pursue till it is achieved.

BVM, Udham Singh Nagar Celebrates World Hindi Divas


World Hindi Diwas was celebrated at BVM (USN) with an aim of spreading greatness of Hindi language in the society. It is celebrated throughout the world to promote Hindi language at the Global front. Mrs Sheetal Rani (TGT Hindi) apprised the students with the significance of the Hindi language and rich lingual culture of the country. Vardaan (VIII) recited a beautiful poem in the morning assembly highlighting the value of the language. Various activities like Hindi handwriting, dictation and Shabad - Sidhi were conducted (I to VIII) to bring forth the value of the national language. Besides developing cognitive skills through these activities, students also got their vocabulary enhanced.
Principal Bandana Sethi motivated the students to take pride in their language as it is gathering worldwide recognition.
