BVM Udham Singh Nagar, Celebrates National Mathematics Day

With an aim to create awareness about the contributions made by the renowned Mathematician of India, Srinivasan Ramanujan, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Udham Singh Nagar, celebrated the National Mathematics day today. TGT Mathematics Rupali, threw light on the life of the great scholar, highlighting some prominent incidents of his life depicting his super intelligence. She also projected importance of fundamentals of basic Mathematics and the application of simple calculation techniques in day to day life. Priya (IX–A) rhymed the basic mathematical concepts used for calculations in a tricky way, through her poem on the subject. The BVMites (XI & XII) visited the Mathematics Lab in the school and tried their hands on different mathematical activities related with real life. The young mathematicians actively participated in the ‘Spiral Activity’ based on the concept of ‘Irrational Numbers on Number Lines’, ‘Handkerchief Activity’ related to the ‘Area of Circle’, CSA and TSA. Section wise quiz contest was also organized for the students of class X. The teams enthusiastically participated in it.
Principal, Bandana Sethi applauded the efforts of the teachers of Maths Department who created the magic of Maths through simple activities.
